My name is Natalie. I’m a 36-year-old, active, independent woman who uses a wheelchair due to my neuromuscular disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy. I have severe muscle weakness, but zero intellectual challenges.
While I am very independent, I can't live my life without help. This isn’t your average caregiving position. It’s a relaxed “work environment.” Working for me can sometimes feel like we’re hanging out (I like building relationships with my caregivers), but it's important to remember this is first and foremost a job. My caregivers are the people who allow me to live such a fulfilling life...plus, I can't pee without ya ;)
