We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Home Health Care Provider to support a female client in her recovery from a brain tumor. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on someone's journey toward regaining independence. The primary goal is to assist the client in her rehabilitation, with the ultimate objective of her walking with limited assistance from a walker or cane.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in providing care for individuals with physical and mental difficulties and will be a proactive, communicative, compassionate, and reliable self-starter.
Principal Responsibilities
As a Home Health Care Provider, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties that support the client's daily life and rehabilitation goals. These responsibilities include:
- Mobility Support: Assisting the client with daily transfers (e.g., bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to couch) and providing support during daily rehabilitation exercises, including (but not limited to) strength training and cardio.
- Personal Care: Assisting with daily showering (i.e., assistance entering into the shower), and dressing activities. This includes helping with hygiene tasks such as applying lotion, deodorant, and tending to nail and foot hygiene (manicures and pedicures).
- Bowel Care & Bladder Care: Assisting with daily bowel and bladder care, including but not limited to the changing of diapers and assistance with re-training on the use of the commode for long term independence.
- Meal Preparation: Daily planning and preparing healthy meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner using a stove, oven, and microwave. Limited processed foods during the week to ensure proper nutrients are being consumed.
- Household Management: Performing housekeeping tasks, including weekly cleaning of the client's bedroom, bathroom, as well as cleaning of the kitchen and main living area. Responsibilities also include daily dishwashing and trash removal.
- Accompaniment: Accompanying the client to medical appointments, physical therapy sessions, and other related medical and non-medical outings as necessary.
- Errands: Conducting weekly grocery shopping.
Additional Possible Responsibilities
· Medical & Medication Maintenance Management: Assist in routinely monitoring and documenting the client’s health conditions, including but not limited to blood pressure, pulses, respiratory rate, blood sugars, oxygen saturations, intravenous or intramuscular injections. Additionally, assist in the administration of medications.
Qualifications & Skills
The candidate should possess the following skills and qualities:
- Patience & Empathy: A compassionate and patient demeanor is essential to support the client through her rehabilitation journey.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to physically assist with patient transfers for a person weighing between 130-145 lbs.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous and detail-oriented in all aspects of care and household tasks.
- Strong Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with the client, family, and medical professionals.
- Time Management: Excellent time management skills and a proactive, self-starting attitude.
- Punctuality & Reliability: A consistent, punctual and dependable presence is critical.
- Flexibility: The ability to adapt to the client's evolving needs and schedule.
- Medical Knowledge: While not required, a basic understanding of medical care is a plus.
Preferred Credentials
- 4+ years of experience providing similar care services.
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), or RN (Registered Nurse) qualifications are highly preferred.
Compensation, Work Hours & Start Date
- Compensation: We offer a very competitive hourly pay rate, which is commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience.
- Schedule: We are looking for a caregiver who can work between 25-40 hours per week. We will make exceptional considerations for candidates who can only commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week.
- Start Date: We are looking to fill this position in July 2026.
